satellites - Geita-lighthouse and island

The nkd disposes Geita Fyr lighthouse for artists to rent. Geita Fyr is situated on an island at the opening of the Dalsfjord (about 15 min by boat from Korssund which is about 40 min drive from the nkd ). The lighthouse is located on the islet of Midtre Geita with a beautiful view in all directions and the surrounding seas can be rough at times.

The lighthouse itself is automatic, driven with electricity from solar-panels. The house on the island has simple facilities and has not been changed since the last inhabitants left the island in 1982. The house has nine beds, a kitchen and a living-room. Geita Fyr is rented out mainly to tourists in the summer-period. Off season visual artists and writers can rent the island for a reasonable price.
